126 one hundred and twenty - s i x Storyteller 2: One day Stouty Burke goes home to his family. A new cook comes. He doesn’t like Dick and he doesn’t like cats. Dick is very unhappy. He leaves the house. The next morning Dick and Blacky are sleeping in a field near a big church. It’s six o’clock, and the bells are ringing. Dick wakes up. Dick: Listen, Blacky! The bells are talking to us. What are they saying? Bells: Turn again, Whittington, Lord Mayor of London! Turn again, Whittington, Lord Mayor of London! Turn again, Whittington, Lord Mayor of London! Dick: Come on, Blacky! I want to be Lord Mayor of London one day, and a Lord Mayor doesn’t run away from problems! Let’s go back and tell Lady Anne about the cook. Maybe she can help us. Scene Four Storyteller 2: Dick and Blacky go back to the Fitzwarren’s house. Lady Anne is in the living room with her brother, George, and Alice. Suddenly, she screams.
