C Happy Birthday, Sam C After lunch Emma, Lisa and Terry go to the playground. They are not happy. Sam is still in the cafeteria. He calls his grandma on his mobile. Emma comes back but Sam does not see her. She listens to Sam. “But, Grandma, I want to go to the disco. My friends want to go, too. …OK. You’re right.” Sam wants to go to the disco, too. Emma has got an idea. She runs to the playground and tells Terry and Lisa. 80 e i ghty A It is lunchtime and Terry, Lisa and Emma are in the cafeteria at school. They have got invitations to a disco at school, but there is a problem. The disco is today and Sam’s birthday party is today, too. The three friends really want to go to the disco. What can they do? “Let’s tell him we want to go to the disco,” says Terry. “We can’t do that,” says Lisa. “Shh!” Emma says, “Here’s Sam.” Sam sits with his friends. 5 10 B “Hi,” says Sam. “Don’t forget my party today. And don’t be late!” “But you’re always late,” Lisa says and they all smile. An invitation to the disco is on the table. “What’s this?” Sam asks. “It’s … it’s only a disco, Sam,” Emma says. She gives Sam the invitation and he reads it. “A disco on my birthday!” he says. “We can listen to music at my party, too.
