90 n inety C Holiday time Wendy Lehmann is from England so she likes to go there on holiday. This year the family is going to the Lake District. They are exchanging houses with a family there – the Blakes. Mr Lehmann: I couldn’t check my e-mails yesterday. But maybe there’s an answer from the Blake family today. Christof: Where do they live again? Mrs Lehmann: In Ulverston in the Lake District. It’s a beautiful area. I often went there with my parents when I was a girl. Mr Lehmann: Here it is! Mrs Lehmann: What have they written, Erik? Mr Lehmann: We needn’t bring … anything! We can use everything in their house. They have sent a picture of their house, too. Christof: Look, it’s a terraced house. Hannah: It looks nice. I can’t wait to go. When will the Blakes arrive at our house? Mrs Lehmann: They can come any time after 27 th June. We must tell them that in the next e-mail, Erik. Mr Lehmann: Here’s a website with a map of the Lake District. Christof: How can we get there? It looks really far away. Mrs Lehmann: When I was a girl, you could take a bus. I’m sure there’s a train from London now. Christof: I hope I can try fly fishing, Mum. It looks like fun! Hannah: We mustn’t forget to tell Grandma and Grandad when we’ll arrive. Mrs Lehmann: Yes, and remember, you can only speak English this holiday. No German! Christof: Did you hear that, Dad?
