Why not add to the file as you work through this book? Number plates Each of the 50 US states has a different number plate (in the US: license plate). Here are some of the plates I saw on my journey. US facts Here are some more US facts: • There are more than 290 million Americans. Everyone who is born in the US gets an American passport. • The state of Alaska is bigger than Germany, France and Spain together. • The journey from L.A. to NYC takes five and a half hours by plane. (It’s about 2,400 miles.) • There are five time zones in the US. Hawaii is five hours behind NewYork City, which has East Coast time. November West Side Story I like to be in America! OK by me in America! Everything free in America, for a small fee in America! I love musicals, and one night I went to see a real classic: West Side Story. It’s got SO many good songs, like ‘America’.What do you think of it? The story is about immigrants in NewYork and their problems. November Empire State Building My last stop was NewYork City!
