They say “November third”. Berry Middle School is in Mesquite, Texas. The school is for students in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. Its magazine is ‘The Growl’. All students should remember these important school rules: 1. Students will receive detention after school if they arrive late to school or class three times. 2. Students must follow the new school dress code. Important points: boys must not wear earrings; girls’ jewelry must not be too large; boys’ hair must not be longer than their shirt collar. Pants must not be the same color as sweatshirts and T-shirts. We will send home students who do not follow the dress code. 3. Students must not smoke in school. From the principal Dear students! Welcome to this semester’s magazine! We have news, information and advice for all our students. Student Council’s next big charity event this year is the Fall Dance on November 28 from 7–10 pm. Tickets cost $10. The money will go to poor families in Mesquite. Do you have a date yet? This month’s special charity pencils are for sale during lunch for 50 ¢. Get yours now and write a personal note to go with it. Give it back to us with the name of the person you want to send it to. We’ll deliver it in 5th period, Monday November 3.
