Lindy: Well, I’ve been crazy about hiking and other outdoor sports since I was a kid. When I was 14, we went to Grand Canyon National Park on vacation and I fell in love with the place. That’s when I decided I wanted to be a ranger. Reporter: What do you do? Lindy: There are two sides to the job. We organize programs for visitors. That’s fun. Rangers need to be good at explaining things and answering questions. And we look after the park and protect nature. I often work alone for that part of the job, but I never worry about that. I know how to look after myself. Reporter: Do you always enjoy your work? Lindy: I’ve been a ranger for ten years, but I never get tired of showing the Grand Canyon to visitors. It’s the most beautiful place in the world. I always look forward to seeing it when I’ve been away. Reporter: Are there parts of the job you don’t like? Lindy: W ell, tourists sometimes leave garbage in the Canyon. We have to pick it up. I’m not crazy about that! And then there are all the reports we have to type. A lot of rangers don’t like that, but I’m used to doing it now. Reporter: Thanks for your time, Lindy!
