117 People and places 09 LANGUAGE SKILLS EXPLORE LOOK AGAIN EXTRAS In the next lesson, get together in A/B pairs. Tell each other what you found out about your topic. Notice the difference between there and it / they in examples A and B below. Which highlighted words: A There’s a café round the corner. It opens at ten. B There are lots of lovely parks to go to. They’re usually free. Complete Ela’s description of her flat with there (2x), it (2x) and they (1x). Put the words in order to make sentences with there + be . Write a description of your home and favourite room, like Ela’s. Listen to each other’s descriptions. What are other people’s favourite rooms? Why?
