Why /why not? 26 How to write replies / offers Note: If a company receives an enquiry, this means that someone is interested in its products or services and wants to find out more about them. In order to turn this potential customer into an actual customer, enquiries should be answered immediately. Replies to enquiries should be clear, precise and polite. If the company does not have what the customer is looking for, it is good business practice to offer them a substitute or refer them to another company. If the supplier knows exactly what the customer requires, they can send a quotation stating details of prices, delivery, etc. Read the reply to an enquiry.
