It is a fried meal with eggs, bacon, sausages, fried or grilled tomatoes, baked beans (beans cooked in a tomato sauce), fried mushrooms and black pudding (a sausage made with blood and fat), served with toast or bread with butter or margarine, marmalade (made from citrus fruits) or jam (made from sweet fruits), a cup of tea or coffee, a bowl of cereal (corn- flakes, muesli, …) and some fruit. Nowadays this large meal is mainly served in cafés and restaurants because tourists love it. Many res- taurants serve an “all day breakfast”. People in Britain usually prefer a “continental breakfast”. They have toast, bread or rolls with butter, jam or marmalade, cheese and ham and a cup of tea or coffee. Cereals are also very popular. They don’t have time for a “fry-up” (another name for a cooked breakfast), only at week- ends they sometimes eat an English breakfast to start the day. . . . . 5 . . . . 10 . . . . 15 . . . . 20 . .
