I started writing stories when I was about 10 years old now, and then when I was 17 that I first started writing poems. Writing poems is much harder than writing stories about. You have to say so much in just a few words. I find to getting the rhyme right the hardest thing of all. For inspiration, I mainly rely on my memories. I’m lucky because I had a some really happy childhood. Most of my poems are upbeat – I must think too much poetry these days is miserable and depressing. It’s great to be a published author at my age, although I can’t give up my job just yet. It is once my dream that one day I will ever earn enough from my writing to live as a full-time writer. If you want to become a poet at one day, I have two pieces of the advice for you. One is to read as much poetry as you can, by as many different authors as possible. The second is to start with writing today. Just 10 minutes a day can make all the difference.
