Is there anything he’d like to do but can’t do at the moment? 1 Reading a b celebrity interviews on red carpets and at big events. We filmed the first interviews in Mallorca in Spain and it was so much fun. I did not have enough time to prepare, but it went really well. I’m really looking forward to filming the next episodes. There is also another hosting project in the pipeline. It’s a cool new format that will combine some things I personally like very much. So please keep your fingers crossed that I’ll have enough time to start filming sometime soon.” Weil continued, “My main focus was to push my English-speaking acting work and to live some time in London. Both were successful — but cost me too much energy. My ‘normal’ projects in Germany took up too much time for me to pursue my singing career. If I do something, I want to be able to give it a hundred percent of my energy. So, I am going to give my music some rest and focus on acting and hosting. But I am hoping that in the future I will have the chance to record new songs.” For his fans, Weil concluded, “Thank you so much for all your support. Working in this business can be very challenging and hard at some points. It’s always great to know that I have all these wonderful people who are there for me. This means a lot to me.” Interview: Jo Weil In October 2016 popular German actor Jo Weil chatted with Digital Journal about his latest acting projects, his hosting gigs and plans. “I’m very excited because at the moment I’m working on two new acting projects — and both are in the UK again,” he said. “After the great experience with shooting the lead in the British Feature Film Sodom I really hoped to be able to do more English-speaking work. So, this is like a dream come true. This week I’ll fly to London to film Angel North — it’s a pilot for a science-fiction series. My part is totally different from other parts I’ve played so far, plus it’s a genre I would like to work more in. So, I’m really looking forward to that. Later in the year, I’m going to play a not so nice guy in the horror feature The Toymaker. We are hoping to film by the seaside in South Wales. It’s going to be a lot of fun. And good news for all my fans in the US, The Toymaker already has a distributor for the States. So, in late spring you’ll be able to watch my work ‘for real’, too.” On his future plans, Weil said, “I’m definitely going to spend more time and do more work in London. Also it would still be a dream come true if I’d get to work on a film or TV show in the US. But of course, I’ll also keep my focus on working in Germany, too. I have a wonderful manager and two fantastic talent agents (in London and Munich). I can’t thank them enough for the amazing job they do so I’m very optimistic that many good projects will come up …” Regarding his hosting, he said, “At the moment I’m the host of Lifestyle with Jo Weil on Wirtschaft TV.
