Business ideas for the 2020s: Non-alcoholic fun W e’ve identified a trend among young people in Europe: non-alcoholic fun. Campaigns about going alcohol-free for some months are well established, but the decision to stop drinking on a longerterm basis is also growing. This means there’s a potential business opportunity to cater to this market, offering alternatives to traditional pub and bar cultures. There are a number of factors that can mean people don’t drink alcohol – whether it’s a decision to lead a healthy lifestyle, religious, or medical reasons. And, in turn, this abstinence calls for ways to have fun without alcohol. Why is non-alcoholic fun a good business idea? With initiatives like Dry January and Go Sober for October now commonplace in the UK, alcoholfree alternatives are becoming increasingly popular. But leading a non-alcoholic lifestyle doesn’t have to be limited to certain months of the year. More and more people genuinely enjoy a ‘health-boosting drinking experience’ paired with an interesting taste. What is more, they are prepared to pay extra for such innovative, healthy drinks. 68 Nur zu Prüfzwecken – Eigentum des Verlags öbv
