You have just come home from a four-week stay in Australia and want to encourage other young people to go there by writing a blog post about your experiences. In your blog post you should: point out why it is a great idea to spend some time abroad outline the advantages of staying with a host family convince your readers to choose Australia for a stay abroad Give your blog post a title. Write around 400 words. A blog is an interactive webpage used for publishing written content online. Anybody with internet access can write, read and comment on blogs. Blogs can be used to share or respond to information, seek or offer advice and encourage readers to take action. The language can be formal or semi-formal, depending on the topic and the audience. Writers can also address readers directly and invite comments. Blog post (blog entry) Blog comment There are many different reasons for writing a blog post. For example, you might want to arouse your readers’ interest in a topic, share experiences and concerns or offer your opinion on a particular topic. When you write a blog post, you want to interact with your readers. You often address them directly, and in the conclusion of your post, you might want to tell them what you would like them to do next. For example, you could ask them to comment on your blog post or take action. You write a blog comment to respond to a blog post (or a previous comment on a blog post). Before commenting, make sure that you have read the post carefully and fully understand the writer’s perspective. Start your comment by referring to the blog post you have read. Depending on the blog post you are responding to, you might then want to tell your readers whether you agree or disagree with the writer’s arguments, give advice and make suggestions, or give readers something to think about.
