181 Blog post – sample answer World_traveller No worries down under For anyone seeking an unforgettable time away from home, Australia is the ideal destination. I’ve just got back from the most amazing trip down under, and I’ve got so much to tell you. First of all, spreading your wings and spending some time away from everything you are used to is the best thing you can do. Why? Well, for starters, you’ll learn some essential life skills. For instance, having to get from A to B on your own using public transport in an unfamiliar environment can be a real challenge, but once you’ve figured it out, you’ll feel pretty good about yourself. Plus, you’ll make a ton of new friends on buses and trains. Take it from me: there’s nothing like travelling to make people open up and chat. Also, when you travel in Australia, you can easily help someone else while helping yourself. For example, I volunteered at a koala sanctuary near Brisbane and had the time of my life looking after these cute little creatures. But what about accommodation? Well, in my experience, you shouldn’t bother with B&Bs because they can be quite expensive. Stay with an Aussie host family instead. That’s what I did, and it was brilliant. My hosts made me feel like part of the family and introduced me to all their friends and relatives, which was really cool. They even took me sightseeing at the weekends, and we spent loads of time at the beach together. But they also gave me my space when I needed it. I had my own room where I could read or take a nap whenever I felt like it, so I really got the best of both worlds. If you ask me, Australia is the perfect place to go, whether you’re travelling for a month or a year. Fantastic weather, friendly people, endless beaches – it’s got the lot. You can easily find a job if you get tired of being a tourist. Volunteering with animal sanctuaries or other organisations – the possibilities for giving back are endless. You can find more information online, or try asking around. There’s a good chance that your friends will know someone who’s spent some time in Oz and is happy to share their experiences. Personally, I’ll never get tired of raving about the place. So, what are you waiting for? Start planning your Australian adventure today!
